Pumpkin Carving

Lucas, Reda and I carved our pumpkins lastnight. Lucas was a lot of help this year. At first he didn't really want much to do with it and looked at the "guts" with disgust. After a few minutes he grabbed a spoon and started helping. Needless to say buy the end of the night he was covered in goo and seeds. He kept saying "my puntin......mommy my puntin". After we were done I put them on the table, lit the candles, and turned out the lights in the kitchen. He stood back staring at them but was too afraid to get too close.

Pumpkin Patch 2008

We finally visited the pumpkin patch on Sunday. We went back to Carrigan Farms in Mooresville, NC. Lucas had a blast running all over the pumpkin patch looking at all the "puntins" and loved the tractor that pulled the hayride. He fell asleep as soon as we were out of the parking lot. Here are some pictures.

We're PREGNANT.......again!

Thats right we are pregnant again! We are expecting baby number 2. The bean is due around may 4th, 2009. Lucas could care less but, Reda and I are very excited. We are hoping for a girl this time around but, would be happy with whichever god gives us. Stay tuned......

School is Cool

Lucas started mother's morning out on Sept 2nd. He goes on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9-12. He loves playing with the other kids and when he gets home is completely wiped out. He falls asleep on the car ride home almost every day. He's doing really well and I am reminded of what a big boy he has become. We go in, he immediately jumps down, and starts playing. I usually sneak out of the room and all is well. When I go back to pick him up I pull up in the car, they bring him out and his little face lights up......that truly is the best feeling in the world. He always turns around and tells his teacher bye-bye as we are getting in the car...its so sweet. He has a backpack with a folder in it and each day they send home a report card which tells what they learned that day, what time they changed his diaper, what he had for snack and his behavior for the day. Lucas really loves going to school and mommy really loves it too ;) Here are some pictures from his first day.....we tried really had to get a backpack pic but he wasn't having it.

Summer Vacation

We took our much needed summer vacation. We went to Charleston, SC for 10 days and it was WONDERFUL. We had such a great time. Lucas loved the beach and wasn't afraid of the water at all. He wanted to go out in the water all by himself and would get frustrated if we tried to hold his hand. He is Mr. Independent. He also loved playing in the sand and digging holes with Daddy. We went to the beach every day and Lucas would play full speed and then crash once we got in the car. We took Lucas to the Aquarium downtown and he was in total amazement watching all the fish. He kept making his fishy face and pointing, it was so cute. We spent the last two days hanging out with Kindra, Drew, Kaeden, and Kingston. We went to Sunsplash water park one day which was loads of fun. Lucas really liked the water slides and the little squirting toys and water falls. He had so much fun walking around in the pools all by himself (they were only 1 ft 7 in deep). The last day we hung out with them on the beach and they boys had a blast playing together. Reda and I got to have a night out and went to dinner at the Mustard Seed. All I can say is YUMMO! It was so so good and it was nice to have a quite dinner together. Okay, okay enough blah blah........here are some pictures from our trip. Enjoy!

Summer Fun

It has been quite hot here the past couple of weeks and since Lucas loves to be outside, thats where we spend most of the day. He is a true southerner now.....sporting his redneck tan from his elbows down and his knees down. Luckily he's inherited his fathers complexion and tans right away, instead of frying in the sun like his mama. He loves to play in the water and with his bubble machine. The water table was the BEST investment this summer because there is not a day that goes by he doesn't play in it. He also loves to help me water the flowers (he mostly just stands infront of the water hose). We are having a great time playing outside, enjoying the nice weather.

Linville Falls

Reda took Friday off and we spent the day in the mountains! We drove up to blowing rock and walked down main street. Lucas played in the park there and then we went to this little cafe for lunch. After lunch we stopped in the fudge shop for a sweet treat and then hopped in the car and drove up to Lenville. We hiked up to the falls, took some pictures, and then Lucas enjoyed a snack in the car before we headed back home. It was such a nice day, beautiful weather, and lots of fun. Here are some pics from our trip!
