Finally SNOW!

We woke up this morning to some snow!!! We got about 2.5 inches and now its just pretty much freezing rain so its probably not gonna stay around long enough for Lucas to play in it but, still its pretty to look at. Lucas keeps going to the window and staring outside. I wish it weren't raining so I could take him out for a bit. Oh well......maybe it will snow again one day ;)

Lucas is WALKING!
Lucas has been cruising since Christmas and has started letting go and standing on his own for the past two weeks. Yesterday he let go of the couch and just walked on over to the ottoman which was at least 6-7 steps away. Then lastnight he was over at Lala's house and when Reda and I walked in he let go of the couch and walked almost all the way across the room. He's been walking more and more today. I am SOOOOO very excited. I tried to get a video of him walking but, every time I get the camera out he gets stage fright and sits down and crawls away. Hopefully I'll be able to post one soon!

Playing at the Park

It was such a great day today and so nice out we took a stroll over to the park. Lucas is getting so big and wants to climb all over the playground and since there weren't very many kiddos around I thought eh what the hey. He had a blast and didn't want to leave. Looks like thats one of many trips we'll be making.

The Zoo

We went to the Asheboro Zoo on New years eve and had a blast. We werent really expecting much of a reaction out of Lucas but, thought we'd go anyway and since neither Reda nor I had been to the Zoo in a very long time. Lucas loved it! His favorite thing was the Gorillas and the Patas monkeys and cried when we left both exhibits. He carried on a conversation with the Gorilla who walked right up to the glass and sat down right in front of him. He wasn't the least bit afraid of him and kept babbling away. Unfortunately both our video camera and our other camera died about halfway in so we didnt' get alot of pics. However, next trip we will take 3 sets of batteries and four tapes to make sure we capture it all. Here are some of the pics we did get.
